May 1st – Falklands and HMS Sheffield Remembrance Parade and Ceremony, Sheffield City Centre
The band had the privilege to lead the parade to the Cathedral for a service to remember the Falkland’s War and HMS Sheffield. We then played at the Cutlers Hall for those attending the event meal. Well done to everyone that arranged the event, you deserve a pat on the back.
April 3rd – Thorne Miners Memorial Service at Moorends, Doncaster
Members of the band played at the memorial service for the miners who worked at Thorne Colliery. Well done to all those that arranged the day, it was a very moving service.
March 25th – 68th Trainees Course, Pass Out Parade at South Yorkshire Fire Service Training Centre, Handsworth, Sheffield
The band played at the Fire Service Training Centre for the trainees of the 68th course and their families. It was a wonderful sunny day enjoyed by everyone. We wish the trainees all our very best for their futures in the Fire Service.
March 17th – St Patricks Day event at the Catholic Club, Doncaster
A few of the bands pipers and drummer played at the Catholic Club in Doncaster on St Patricks Day. It was a great day, thanks to the club for all the hospitality and refreshments!
February 5th – The Bands 2021 Christmas Party at the Ex Servicemen’s Club Edlington
Due to the spread of Omicron throughout December we decided to postpone our Christmas get together and hold it this year. We held it last Saturday and everyone had a wonderful time. What more could you ask for, playing on the stage, a buffet, free beer, a raffle and a quiz! Whilst there we presented our previous Pipe Major, Keith Arnott and his wife Pauline with a bottle of Whisky and some flowers in appreciation of everything they have done for the band. We must also thank the Ex Servicemen’s Club for their support in allowing us to use their Concert Room, it is a great venue.
January 25th 2022 – Burns Supper at the Cutlers Hall
Members of the band performed at the Cutlers Hall in Sheffield for the Master Cutler, James Tear and his guests. The Burns Supper was a wonderful event which everyone enjoyed, particularly as we played whilst everyone danced the Gay Gordons. We look forward to supporting them at future events and thank them for their hospitality.
